DETROIT – The woman who was shot by Detroit police after she allegedly fired shots at a man who was repossessing a vehicle has been charged.
Shaquanda Danielle Tankersley, 38, allegedly fired a handgun multiple times at a tow truck driver after he repossessed a car from her home in the 10500 block of Somerset Avenue on June 12 just before 3 p.m.

Detroit police were on patrol around Nottingham Road near Grayton Street when they saw Tankersley allegedly shoot at the tow truck driver. Officers returned fire and struck her in her upper torso.
Tankersley was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released. The tow truck driver and officers involved in the shooting were not hurt.
The Detroit woman was charged with Assault with Intent to Murder and Felony Firearm. She was arraigned in the 36th District Court on June 16 and was given a $50,000 bond.
A bond redetermination hearing is set for June 18 at 9 a.m.
